I've had some near death experiences running on icy paths in the cold winter months and even in the spring when I head into the higher elevations. ICEtrekkers created the ideal slip on traction that stays on while running. The rubber wraps around the most important parts of the shoe to give a snug fit that stays on at very high speeds.
The group that I run with has had several different traction attachments throughout the last few years. The frustration was that they would come off and not stay fastened. We tried everything one guy even put screws in the bottoms of some shoes to try and have traction. That worked until the screws started poking him in the bottom of his feet. Many devices are made for walking and just don’t have the durability for winter trail running.
The DIAMOND GRIP ICEtrekkers are absolutely amazing! I ran in very icy conditions up an ice packed road for 4 miles. The elevation gain was about 1000 vertical feet. Then on the way down I went all the way down at about a 6:30 mile. I kept looking down wondering if they were still on. My buddies were a few minutes behind me because their traction came off and they fell. The DIAMOND GRIP works well because it does not cover the traction of the shoe. Instead it works with the traction of the shoe gripping the sole and the icy path. I even found a solid frozen spring near one of my favorite trails and tried to force the traction to slip. They don’t feel weird on a normal dirt trail without snow or ice either.
I used to be nervous running on ice packed roads. The ICEtrekkers gave me tons of confidence on the very iciest cold days of this winter season. Check them out http://www.icetrekkers.com .
