TriEdge.net | Your Ultimate Source of Information on Swim Bike Run

Anyone who knows me, knows that I refuse to train exclusively indoors in the winter. It just doesn't seem natural to me, I am not a hamster and should not be forced to live like one. So, when winter comes I don't ask for ways to cope, I start asking for gear so I can train outside! Thankfully, our industry knows how much it sucks to interrupt your four hour trainer ride to change the DVD. They know how you dread fighting all the New Years resolutions for a treadmill at the gym. They know you would prefer to be outside, but they also know it's freaking cold. As the handsome guy in the running store put it, "If you've got the balls, we've got the gear."

The truth is, with the right gear, there's no reason to be cold. Pick a canyon road on any winter day and I guarantee you'll find someone out running. While I cannot attest to their sanity, I can safely state that they wouldn't be out there if they were risking frostbite. It would be a massive gear review to list all the options and companies that offer quality products for layering so I've chosen a few companies to get you started. However, you're still welcome to join me ice-climbing if you'd prefer.

Brooks Running

Do I even need to convince you that Brooks knows what athletes want? They've been a strong presence in the running industry for many years and have a great passion for all things sporty. It's no surprise that we turned to them for suggestions on keeping even the most timid of runners outside this winter. For more information on Brooks products go to: www.brooksrunning.com
